Timothy Reckart and Fodhla Cronin's Head Over Heals was nominated for Best Animated Short at the 85th Academy Awards (2013). It poignantly uses gravity to represent the emotional disconnect between a husband and wife who have grown old together. They've become so weary and accustomed to each other's mannerisms that it takes a literal grounding on new earth for them to see there's still a desire and a way back to the feelings they assumed were lost to youth. The choice to use music and movement in place of the spoken word gives the short a universal feel anyone can relate to.
